When it was released in 1979, the Kawasaki Z1300 had a larger engine than any of its Japanese-made competitors. The 1,286cc liquid-cooled inline-6 DOHC engine had an output 120hp, in a shaft-driven system, and the results were outstanding: a top speed of 220km/h, with a 0-400m time of 12 seconds.
