The Bighorn began as a basic and underpowered on- and off-road vehicle, offered only four-cylinder motor, 4-speed manual transmission, and part-time 4-wheel drive. The first generation added both amenities and luxuries, optional air-conditioning, power windows, and a more powerful V6 engine. The second generation was more refined and available in 2-wheel drive as well as 4-wheel drive.
